De Pulmonaria officinalis Sissinghurst White laat tijdens de bloeiperiode in het voorjaar bloemen zien die wel iets weg hebben van longblaasjes. Hier dankt de plant zijn Nederlandse benaming aan, namelijk ‘Longkruid’. De plant wordt maximaal 30 cm hoog, is goed winterhard en staat het liefst op een plek in halfschaduw of schaduw.
